Francisco Fort Museum

a step back in time!

In continuous use since it was built in 1862, the historic adobe plaza houses memories and artifacts of the region.

Exhibits include: 1876 log school house, 1890 saloon, working blacksmith shop, Native American and Hispanic cultures, Mining and medical, and educational programs during the season.

2013 Calendar of Events

  • June 29 - Hispanic Culture Day: music, dance, storytelling, demonstrations, salsa making contest and more! (event is free)

  • July 13 - Victorian Culture Day: first person actors and demonstrations on railroad tycoons, romance and etiquette, dressing a Victorian lady! (event is free)

  • July 27 - Francisco Fort Day: Celebrating Native American Culture: Southern Ute Tribal members, Bear dancers, storytellers, demonstrations, exhibits, lectures, vendors (event is free)

  • August 9-10 - Rocky Mountain Paranormal: things that go 'bump in the night' at the museum! Lectures on the 'science of paranormal', cemetery tour, night tours of the museum (some events are free, some have ticket price, space is limited, please reserve ahead of time)
